Confucious says...

with patience and saliva, the ant swallowsthe elephant. sorry, but i had to use that title! And funnily enough, i think the person who gave me the idea for the title may have been the one who got that phrase on a fortune cookie once. i just had to say something 'wise'. hehe. anyway, my thoughts for today:

listening to mugglecast, i was really annoyed at their views on christianity and gay rights. but then i thought, every watch has a watch maker (i studied that, i think the guy who said it was called William something), and to deny God's existence is like saying that show isn't about Harry Potter. it's stupid. and for these people who deny God's existence, they have no hope. just imagine, sitting by the side of a bed with someone as they die. imagine, if you were a non-Christian, thinking that those last few seconds were the last seconds, ever, in the history of everything, that you will ever, ever be with that person. its wierd, it might not hit you yet, but recently i've really been hit by the large scope of everything; the universe, all that, and how short life really is. this is it. THIS... this life you're living is the only one you'll ever have here on earth, so enjoy it. unfortunately, not everyone gets hit by this fact, so keep thinking about you, and eventually it will hit you. thats what i did. and now i'm loving life...

Life is uncertain... Eat dessert first

It seems that nowadays everyone has so so so many problems. But i'm going to say straight out, we don't, so maybe people should just get over 'problems', such as food, school, cars, money etc. But as said above, life is uncertain. We all need to be happy with what we have, and not take life so seriously. There are people in this world with nothing, yet some people still can't find time to be happy. And if people can't be happy with what they have now, i don't know how they can be happy. We might as well give someone else a chance at it, because people with nothing would certainly enjoy the life we all live. The way i heard it put is this "you've just got to enjoy life, because if you don't, your gonna have alot of regrets." And no one likes regret.

Top 5 songs

As promised, my top 5 songs are here. If you know them all, you get a freddo hehe.

1. Third Day - My hope is in you. One of the best songs in Christian music, not only does it sound great, but the lyrics are awesome, and are a constant reminder of the hope and joy which we have in Jesus, the best hope you'll find anywhere.

2. Dream Theater - Metropolis part 1. Scenes from a Memory. Mind blowing! The best 9 minutes and 38 seconds of metal ever, this musical masterpiece demonstrates the incredible skill of all of the band members. Mike Portnoy proves why he is the youngest drummer ever inducted into the drumming hall of fame, and John Petrucci blows the brains out of all listeners, due to his ability to play 10567 notes per second. John Myung continues to melt people with his super fast bass, and the rippin' keyboard playing of Jordan Rudess is officialy the best ever. Awesome. Flat out instrumentals never sease to amaze.

3. Day of Fire. Ok. I have two favourites here. Through the Fire, awesome vocals and excellent playing of instruments, this song really proves that Christian music isn't all young girls who have no idea. This proves that Christian metal is some of the best metal, and along with Jacob's Dream, this album would have to be one of the best i own.

4. Mugglecast. Hate me, and call me a nerd, but i don't care. You can't say anything until you've listened to it, and even though it isn't music, most of my iPod use is dedicated to the wonders of Harry Potter. Can't stop listening, and when i'm short of new material, i just listen to the old stuff. Mega annoyed i probably won't see them in Sydney. Every episode proves why these guys are in the top 3 podcasts online, especially when a connection is made between Harry Potter and 'setting a pillow on fire using only friction'! Glorious!

5. Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile (slight return). An absolutely amazing, superd piece of high quality musical fusion. Jimi Hendrix is as good as John Petrucci, and i lose count of how many solos are in this song. Just remember "if i don't see you no more in this world, i'll see you in the next one, but don't be late".

There they are. I took into account the sound of the song, but also the skill. Skill seems to have dissapeared in music, it's a real shame.
